2006 STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING
On September 14, 2006 the Oldman Watershed Council held its 3rd Annual Stakeholders' Meeting: Meeting in the Headwaters. The day was an absolute success, and we had around 75 people attend.
We started the meeting in Pincher Creek at the Heritage Inn where we heard presentations on the Oldman Watershed Council's Strategic Plan, Pincher Creek Watershed Group, Beaver Creek Watershed Group, Pincher Creek Wetland, and on the Water Quality Irrigation District Study. The morning portion was followed by a really delicious lunch at Heritage Acres, and then we were on the bus for a tour of the Southern Rockies Watershed Project. The Southern Rockies Watershed Project (943 KB PDF) is a study of the area burned by the 2003 Lost Creek Fire. On the tour, we traveled to Lyons Creek where we heard a presentation on the project, and then we walked to the Hydrometric/Climate station. We then continued on, in the bus, to a high point, where we could look out onto a valley and get a sense of just how large this fire was. Although the weather wasn't as nice as we had hoped, we still had a good time, and even had a chance to throw snow balls. ![]() ![]() ![]()
