2005 STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

On September 28, 2005 the Oldman Watershed Council hosted their 2nd Annual Stakeholders Meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to find out ways the three types of partnerships within the Water for Life Strategy could work better together. We had presentations from 8 Watershed Stewardship Groups from within the Basin, the Alberta Water Council and the Oldman Watershed Council who both gave updates on their groups, and Alberta Environment on the entire strategy. The basin is very diverse and the groups are tackling issues ranging from water quality to ATV use but they all had one thing in common - commitment to their watershed. There is a lot of positive work being done in the basin and by combining our resources efficiently we will be able to do even more.
