To improve surface water quality in the Oldman River Basin through partnerships and the implementation of sustainable land use and water management practices.

• To reduce contaminants, such as microbes, nutrients and pesticides, entering surface water and groundwater in the Oldman River Basin.
• To increase awareness among residents and stakeholders in the Oldman River Basin, and to encourage commitment and responsibility for water quality.
• To refine and expand knowledge of water-related conditions and processes throughout the Oldman River Basin.

• To work in partnerships to achieve practice change.
• To involve residents/landholders at the grassroots level.
• To share information with Basin residents and to be accountable to them.
• To recognize the legitimacy of all users and uses of the water resource.
• To respect jurisdictional mandates while providing information and advice to policy makers.
