Beneficial Management Practices

A beneficial management practice (BMP) is an action taken to lessen the impact of human activity on water quality. Creating awareness and action on BMPs is an important component of the goals of the Oldman River Basin Water Quality Initiative. The Initiative's Urban and Rural Beneficial Management Practices Teams have been actively involved in monitoring water quality in the Basin, developing BMPs and implementing them in test and demonstration sites.
